Counterfeit Detection

Genuine vs. Counterfeit

As our BINOCK NVG30 and NVG50 night vision devices have become more popular, we’ve started to see knockoff versions show up on online marketplaces, social media, and some unauthorized sellers.

Some of these fakes look almost identical at first glance—even the logo can be copied. But, looks are deceiving. When it comes to performance, user experience, and reliability, there’s simply no comparison.

How to Tell the Difference

Power System
The easiest place to spot a fake is the power setup. The NVG30 runs on a single 18650 rechargeable battery, while the NVG50 uses two 18350 lithium batteries (or just one if needed) and can also work with a head-mounted battery pack. Genuine BINOCK models have well-sealed battery compartments for stable, safe operation. Counterfeits usually cut corners—using mismatched batteries, cheap compartments, and poor seals. This can cause battery leaks and even damage the mainboard.

Optics
The lenses are another giveaway. All BINOCK devices use ProShield coatings, which you’ll notice by the unique amber tint under light. This coating cuts glare and makes the device more discreet at night. Fakes don’t bother with this—they tend to have reflective glass, which not only gives away your position but can also be unsafe.

Low-Light Performance
Put our night vision in total darkness (cover the IR illuminator), and you’ll still get a usable image. Many counterfeits break down here: you’ll see lots of static or “snow,” or the device might flip to infrared mode automatically—clear signs the sensor isn’t up to par. Also, genuine devices keep a sharp picture at up to 4x zoom, while most fakes turn blurry after just 2x, making it tough to spot anything clearly.

App Features & Connectivity
BINOCK products work with a dedicated mobile app through Wi-Fi, so you can stream video, snap photos, record, and replay footage easily. Most counterfeit versions don’t offer this, or their “app” functions are unstable and disconnect constantly (if they work at all).

Aiming & Display
Authentic BINOCK goggles let you adjust the reticle and keep the image centered, for precise aiming whatever the lighting. Fakes are known for drifting crosshairs, flickering screens, poor contrast, or fixed reticles that can't be tweaked—all of which kill your accuracy.

Materials & Build
We use tough, quality-tested materials for every BINOCK device—our coatings last, reflections are controlled, and you won’t get weird vision effects over time. Fakes are put together with cheaper plastics or alloys. That means more scratches, odd reflections, and in some cases, parts that just don’t fit right.

Documentation & Mounts
Every genuine BINOCK comes with a digital manual on our official website, so you can check the specs and set-up steps yourself. Counterfeit units usually skip the paperwork and may have incompatible mounts or brackets. Poor-quality accessories mean you can’t use them safely with a helmet, or they won’t hold up in tough conditions.

Our Advice

To avoid disappointment (and potential safety issues), always buy BINOCK products through our authorized dealers or official channels. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Counterfeits not only fall short on performance—they can let you down when you need them most.
